Hi,
Installed Ver 10.1 on bare harddrive my desktop a while ago. once I burnt the CD it was no problem. Connected via wi fi to internet and ran fine. Didn't use it for a while, new router fitted when changing internet provider and forgot password for "Keyring".
Tried to reinstall ver 10.1 but install crashes at about 25%.
So downloaded and burnt cd for 11.04. That crashes at same point.
Is it essential to be connected to the internet during installation?
Tried installing both versions within Windows XP but can't see how it should start up.
There is a Ubuntu folder but it o the only application file is for uninstall.
Tried installinf alongside wndows XP but it faild to create the partitions.
Any suggestion would be most welcome.
Cheers

When trying to run with Windows.
It appears that I am not getting the boot screen initially. It is going straight into XP

Looks like Ubuntu didn't like my hard drive.
Used spare and managed to install 11.04 as stand alone system.
Although I can't connect to the internet.
Ubuntu can identify the wireless adaptor but it won't connect to my BT Home Hub.
Works fine with XP.

DonHi, you can search about your bt hub, there are other people having trouble with it because in may they upgraded some of there software and it has made it where linux could not connect. I am not sure if there is a fix for it or not.

Start a trouble ticket with BT and have them walk you through a test on that..
