I have dl'ed Ubuntu and the Wubi installer and want to install Ubuntu to try it out. Do I need to back up all of my files and stuff before doing this, or will it wipe out my HD(C) upon installation like a C:/format command within a ******* installation? I know that when you reinstall a ******* OS the installer formats the drive, thereby erasing everything on it. Any input is appreciated.

Hi, it is always a good idea to back up your files, but it will not wipe out your windows
system with wubi it uses windows.
Here are 4 guides to help.
