Hi. I am required to dual boot my HP Probook i5 with windows and ubuntu 11.04. The problem is that it already has ubuntu on it and I need to install windows also. I read a bit about the problems in installing windows AFTER ubuntu so I think it would be better if I installed windows 7 and then installed ubuntu thereafter. I have already backed up my hard drive using clonezilla 64-bit.

My question is:

Can I install ubuntu into my laptop (after installing windows) from the clonezilla-backed up image of my original hard drive?

This would save me a lot of time and energy in getting the system to it's current setting.

yes you can, but ubuntu will take over your boot menu and if all copies are online during install, all will be affected
