Reinstalling Windows

Hey guys, I'm not fond of ubuntu desktop, so I'm wanting to reinstall windows xp and when I put the disk in, it basically says the hard drive hasnt been found. I do however want to dual boot ubuntu server after I get windows back, to play with linux that way... Any help would be appreciated....

What error message comes up when you try to boot from the disk? Where in the boot process is it throwing the exception?

Hard drive not found? That doesn't sound right. Can you post the exact error message? (Write it down.)

have you formated the drive? i think you should be able to find it with fdisk utility

No error message comes up... What happens is I hit any key to boot from disk, it brings up the windows setup thing, I select languages and whatnot, hit next.. When it tries to find the drives and whatnot, it says hard disk cannot be found...

Also, the the last poster, I've tried fdisk, it doesnt work when it wont find the drive...
