Whenever I try to intall Ubuntu 11.04 on an E-machine that I got for free (Yes, it works) whenever I try to install Ubuntu it loads up the Ubuntu screen with the four dot loading dealie under the word Ubuntu. Where the install options should pop up, all it brings up is busybox with an error about not being able to load /dev on /dev/loop0

I don't know if this helps, but I'm doing it from the CD and when I try to load Windows XP that is on the Hard drive, it wont load.

Hi and welcome to the forums :-)

I suspect that error means you have either a bad burn or the integrity is not good.

1. check integrity https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

2. burn at the lowest possible speed https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

3. you may need to set some boot options too http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10069997&postcount=1

Let us know if this helps you get further.

No. The burn is fine. I've used this CD to install ubuntu on a different machine.
