Hey guys I have a WinXP ISO file and was wondering which is the most noob friendly way to creating a bootable USB with it to re-install XP onto my netbook via Ubuntu 11.04.

I haven't found any tutorials out there explaining anything on the lines of this.

Thanks a heap

Hi,
Try doing a a web search for unetbootin .

i stumbled across it actually and attempted to do this but once i chose to restart and boot from the usb (from the bios) it came up with the unetbootin and had an option to choose "default" with a count down timer coming down from 10 and it gave me the option to press "tab" to change the settings.

it gave me no option to install a fresh copy of windows xp

*edit*

i reformatted my usb to fat 32 in linux and tried unetbootin again but got the same problem. it came up with the same page as before when i booted from the usb.

it would say automatic boot in: 10,9,8 etc and keep coutning down then resetting once it hits zero or if you hit a key.

it also has this in the command line under automatic install box:

/ubnkern initrd=/ubninit

no idea what happened =(

I have never done it but saved a couple of links:

Copy Windows XP to usb
Please note this tutorial works on all computers not just the Asus EEE PC.
