I've installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my MacBook Pro 7,1. Everything works fine, but I did something to bork my GDM. This error occurred while attempting to install Gnome 3 alongside Gnome 2. I used the TTY to install KDE, and from the KDE login screen I selected to log into Gnome desktop. Everything works swell, and I switched GDM to my default session again. The only hiccups were some aesthetics and KDE applications expanding my menu. I solved the menu issue with Alacarte. There were two aesthetic issues that remained though. KDE reskinned my firefox to use horrid red 'X' close tab buttons. I just used a new theme that I prefer over Gnome's Firefox anyhow. It also seems KDE changed my application menu icon from the Ubuntu symbol to the attached image.

How do I replace this icon with the default Ubuntu or Gnome icon?

[SOLVED]
It was the Appearance->Customize->Icons theme. Nothing to do with KDE.

Hi, I like your way of showing that the thread is solved. Pretty creative :) The standard way is found under thread tools, at the top.
