Cannot detect USB after upgrade

I recently upgraded to 11.04 from 10.10 and now my computer doesn't detect some USB devices like my wifi adapter or my psp. It does detect my Iphone sometimes, but not all the time.

I cannot detect USB nor can automount with fstab

I give the errors:

Unknow 'vfat' file system.

or

cifs filesystem not supported by the system

I have installed smbfs
