Upgrade from 10.10 -> 11.04 froze at "Setting up memtest86+".

I haven't had any problems with 10.10, but I decided to do a Dist. Upgrade from the Update Manager, and I seem to be stuck at Installing Upgrades section of the update, specifically at this point:

Setting up busybox-static (1:1.17.1-10ubuntu1) ...
Setting up dmidecode (2.9-1.2build1) ...
Setting up ed (1.5-1) ...
Setting up friendly-recovery (0.2.11) ...
Setting up geoip-database (1.4.7~beta6+dfsg-1) ...
Setting up info (4.13a.dfsg.1-6ubuntu3) ...
Setting up iputils-tracepath (3:20100418-3ubuntu1) ...
Setting up libcap-ng0 (0.6.5-1) ...
Setting up irqbalance (0.56-1ubuntu3) ...
irqbalance start/running, process 1490
Setting up libedit2 (2.11-20080614-2) ...
Setting up libelf1 (0.148-1ubuntu1) ...
Setting up usbutils (0.87-5) ...
Setting up lshw (02.15-1) ...
Setting up ltrace (0.5.3-2.1ubuntu1) ...
Setting up manpages (3.27-1ubuntu2) ...
Setting up memtest86+ (4.10-1.1ubuntu1) ...

Does anyone know how I can recover from this?

Hi, welcome to the fora.

How does 11.04 work in a live boot?

I haven't rebooted yet. I still have the Dist. Upgrade window open, I am afraid to reboot or use ctrl+c for fear that it will not be bootable afterwards. But as far as I know, a live cd should work if it becomes necessary.
