I did a clean install of 11.04 and now I find that none of the applications allow me to save audio in mp3 format. ogg, wav and a few other options get shown but not mp3.

Is mp3 support removed from Natty or do we now have to install it manually? If latter is the case, can some one please tell me how to get this going?

Many thanks

EDIT : It appears manual install is necessary using

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

For this to work, you need to have subscribed to the correct repositories. I just ticked all of them in synaptic but that really downloads a lot of crap. It did work after that.
