Hello everyone!

I'm new to Linux and have just installed Ubuntu. Everything seems to work but I don't have the menus(Application, etc.) at the top of the screen. Instead I have file, edit, view, places and help. All I have done is install Ubuntu and run the updater. Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advanced =)

You don't see the launcher bar at the left of your screen?

Sounds like you are using Unity, if you want the gnome panels back (with the menus) select Ubuntu Classic from the sessions menu at the login screen.

See this thread for links, hints and tips on how to use Unity should you wish to.
