anyone know of any commands which can unmadden girlfriends when you've been messing about on Ubuntu all day?

$ sudo apt-get install chill-pill ?

$ sudo apt-get install but-look-at-all-the-great-stuff-you-can-do-on-your-laptop-now ?

Probably the same commands that unmadden boyfriends when you've been messing about on Ubuntu all day.

For some reason, with either boyfriends or girlfriends, the command is always not found...

you installed ubuntu on her new laptop just so you can have something new to mess with, and she's freaking out because she wants to use it, and not watch you type cli mumbo jumbo?

oh no, almost.

Converted her laptop over to Ubuntu a couple of years ago, she's got used to it now (she only web browses), and unfortunately she doesn't appreciate the Terminal at all (which is just aswell, because my command of it is somewhat limited).

Nope, she's not been in the best mood cos I've inherited a new project. My Gran's hardly ever used antique Compaq D510 SFF. I've broke it down and built it back up to the best spec the motherboard will allow. So, my first hardware project followed by the migration to Unity has took up some time - which I have pretty much annexed her laptop to assist me with.

On top of that, I decided that I could make some changes to the living room to incorporate said computer. Had to cease and desist when baby got scared of the drill...

you know how it's gonna end up, right? She's gonna exile you and granny's machine to a remote part of the kitchen, or the pantry if you have one, and you're gonna have to work in unhuman conditions.

I fear you may be right :(

EDIT: and yes, that is Windows 7 running on there. Sorry for the sacrilidge but I needed to dual boot for Sky player. As good as Moonlight is, I still need Silverlight to watch the footy on Sky Sports with.

The error messages that she if giving you indicate that she is bored. Try the following:

sudo apt-get remove ubuntuforums
sudo apt-get install take-her-out-to-dinner

(check the amount of cache that you have first)

If this doesn't work, you can try

sleep( until_she_cools_off )

Unfortunately the above is the last resort. If it doesn't help, you will probably have to:

sudo apt-get remove girlfriend
sudo apt-get install ubuntuforums

:lolflag:

Fortunately, I worked it out:

sudo apt-get remove angry-birds

Worked a treat.
