I'm running Xubuntu 11.04 64bit for the first time. It's very nice. :)
But how do I remove the mail icon off the taskbar? When I right click it want to remove the whole launcher, and I don't want to do that.

I think I'm trying to remove a launcher from the group of icons at the bottom of the screen. Is each launcher a separate program icon?

If you have the default setup where the bottom panel is a taskbar, then yes, each launcher is a separate program icon. You should be able to right-click the icon and choose "Remove".
