The ugly one... although that'd apply to both of them, IMO. Could we maybe get something silver or light blue? :)

Brown...
The Red and Yellow scheme should come with some kind of warning...

Well, even though I prefer the brown theme (because the yellow is just a little... too much... heh)... I'm still viewing this site in the red-yellow. heh. :)

Brown, the yellow is not my style. Try soft colors like light blue(not baby blue pls!) and silver ect. but still keeping to the style of ubuntu

Voted brown.

kassetra, could you model some colours after the Ubuntu apple wallpaper (http://www.jakeslife.net/ubuntu/) that was done by jakeslife (fourth from bottom)?

I love that wallpaper.

Okay - I'm not going to disappoint the poor little red-yellow-theme ... I like it ;)

I use the yellow/red, because the brown looks so dark. I like happy colors

Well, ubuntu's official colors are the reds and oranges... The only reason I don't like the red-yellow theme too much is because of the background yellow... that color of yellow is wonderful for highlights, but I'm not too keen on it being a background...

I think the default theme should stay in the standard ubuntu red-orange color scheme, but it's possible for me to make many different colored themes and allow you to pick the one that you like best.

Brown works for me.

Yes, if the background were white I'd use yellow/red, but since it's not, I must use brown or I get a headache.

One suggestion, when making new themes, try to stay along the color schemes of Ubuntu. They use a lot of brown, red, and yellow, and these should somehow be incorporated into any theme. Even if it's a BLUE theme, when done correctly, blue, brown, and orange can REALLY look good together.

LOL blue & brown are two of my favorite colors together!
I think the default theme should follow the red/oranges/brown/yellow standard ubuntu colors, but I plan on possibly making other color schemes, using ubuntu's official palette. :)

Hmmmm... that's more along the lilac/lila/thinice color lines...
Would a color theme that started with some of these blues be ok?

Sure, just don't make it too dark or too purple (lean more towards cyan perhaps).

I knew there was something different when I logged in today! Sadly, I highly doubt having a white background is necessarily for the better. The reason I use the Red/Yellow theme is because I had my theme unset for quite some time, and simply got used to the look. As much as it pains me, I've come to like it the way it was.

The white now makes it not only brighter, but also messes with the matching of colors. At least the colors went together before, now it's like a color-blind child randomly selected a background color based on it's brightness value....

I don't mean to insult anyone for changing or liking the new color. I just couldn't think of any other way to state my disgust for the white. I might have to change to brown now... :(

Indeed. It'd be nice if the old yellow was preserved. :|

Here's another suggestion... maybe I should just switch to brown while I wait, though.

cut kassetra's bad taste out entirely. The rest of you can fend for yourselves then. :p

Considering I didn't create the color scheme for the forums, and that ubuntu-geek, the administrator of these forums did...
heh. you might want to remove your foot from your mouth.
