Can't add anything to compiz widget layer

I just downgraded from 11.04 back to 10.10 and since doing so I haven't been able to make anything show up on the compiz widget layer. No matter what rule I put in for the Widget Windows nothing moves to the widget layer

These are slightly stupid questions, but just to be sure:

The Widget Layer plugin is active (ticked)?

Compiz is acting as the window manager, so that you're getting other desktop effects, just not this one?

You're sure that the window class names you're using are correct?
