I've tried installing Ubuntu 10.04 and 11.04 on my server box for a while now, and every time I try installing it, somewhere (completely randomly) during the install the screen turns black.
I had Ubuntu 10.04 installed from before, but I decided to format the whole disk and do a completely new install, and now it won't install.
I've googled around and I found some so-called fixes, none which actually works for my setup. Some say that Nvidia cards are incompatible with Ubuntu (I have a 9800 GTX) but it worked before, so why wouldn't it work now?
Fixes I've already tried:
Pressing F6 and checking the "nomodeset" option.
NOTE: This is the server edition of Ubuntu!
SOLVED! Fixed it by changing my graphic card! (Switched to a 8800GTX)
