I am running Ubuntu 11.04 64bit on a HP Pavilion Elite The wireless works great in genome or unity but when I switch to Kde I have no wireless. I tried switching from gdm to kdm but that makes no difference. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is the wireless adapter on and scanning for networks?

If it is and you're not having luck connecting, you might want to try wicd instead, works perfect for me - I used the instructions here - note: read the entire thread:
