software installer problem

i'm new to linux, i downloaded and install ubuntu and its a pretty nice os. My only problem i
m having is that everytime i try to install software thru the software center, it tells me that i need to to check my internet connection. Well the problem is that i am connected.

Did you manage to resolve the problem?

There were minor issues with some downloads over the last 2 days, but they seem to be fixed for the most part.
