Can I upgrade from 10.04 to 11.04 ?

Can I upgrade from 10.04 to 11.04, or do I have to either go ..

1. Upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 and then upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04

OR ..

2. Wipe everything (after backup of data files and config settings, etc), download the ISO for 11.04, and then install a new 11.04

Need to go to 11.04 due to a hplip issue with versions.

I would really choose the second option, if at all, because you are on the very stable side of an LTS release.

If you want to upgrade, yes, you have to upgrade first to 10.10 and then to 11.04. It could take some time, really faster with a fresh install.

Completely fresh install.

Ah, ok. No wonder it run perfectly. :p
Of course that does not mean the other way is not possible but I think that was the secure way to avoid so many problems so many users were experiencing to upgrade to 11.04.
