Hi,

I am trying to install COD:Black ops using Playonlinux, i have upgraded to latest version. When doing the install it goes through the DirectX install in a separate window, this all completes fine but the Playonlinux install window doesnt move on from the "playonlinux is installing the Directx runtime" screen.

Any help would be most appreciated, thanks

Black ops has gold status on appdb, so try with normal wine.

aparently according to a couple of forums to solve this under windows you do this

1. Open Command Prompt (Start>Run>Type CMD)
2. Browse to your Steam Directory, By default this is C:/Program Files/Steam/. Do this by typing "CD C:/Program Files/Steam/"
3. Type "steam.exe -install E:". E Is my CD drive letter, Please change this according to your drive letter. The game should then install.

how do I do that in wine as there is no "windows" command prompt?

I am having the same exact problem. I have the official download executable version of the game (as opposed to the CD), which the PlayOnLinux install supports supposedly, but I can't get to that point because it always stalls after I click "Finish" on the directx install.

I tried installing directly through wine as suggested above, but it doesn't seem to work with the download executable.
