Lila brown colour pack

This is pack which contains colour mod of Lila icon theme, plus matching wallpapers, gdm theme, gnome splash and gtk2 theme.
Now, there is one small problem, and that is that on Ubuntu icons get scaled realy small. I don't know why, or if it is Ubuntu related or not, but bvc sent me fix:


In order for the icon theme to work as others, I
modified my own index.theme file, not yours in the
download, and added
DesktopDefault=48
and changed all
Size=128
to
Size=48


So aply that to index.theme in this archive.[/url]

Gosh... That's very brown.

I've toned down my colours to a more beige theme and find it a little more restful than the more earthy browns used in the default theme and this theme.

Looks very good though! Good stuff!

Maybe a stupid questions, and I'm sure the answer is simple, but how do you install this theme? As I've done a lot of things, but never installl a Gnome theme.

Never mind, I think I figured it out, at least everything except the wallpapers, don't know what to do with the svg files.

Yeah, I know how to change my desktop, but thought there was something different with .svg files.

hmm I can't seem to be able to install this theme :-/ I've installed themes before but this one doesn't work with my system. I usually drag and drop the tar into the themes window. any ideas?

Download and either uncompress the archive via commandline or simply click on the bz2 and file-roller will open it for you. Put everything in its proper place. http://art.gnome.org/faq.php

I have added two xmms/bmp media player skins to the archive. Credits/authors are in the readme’s in the skins.

[EDIT] give me a minute....I'm adding a gkrellm theme. Credits/author is in the readme in the theme.

the icons on the desktop are extremely small using lila-brown. i rectified the situation by copy and pasting the index.theme file contents in lila over to the lila-brown one, then changing the name from lila to lila-brown.

hmmm thats how mine look now. for me, the waste, computer, and home icons started off looking about 1/4 of the size. i downloaded lila-brown when they were first made available (AFAIK), so maybe they have been changed slightly since then. other than that, i can't explain it.
