Hello everyone. :)

Here's my problem. My phone bill's been raising lately and I've decided that it's time to move to cheaper (free) solutions - internet. First thing I tried was Skype which I've used before, but it's really laggy and unstable for me, not to mention that it takes literally 15 minutes of messing with the settings on alsamixer to get the mic working (while at the same time it works just fine with audacity). And once you restart the computer it once again doesn't work.

Anyway, I need an alternative, a program for voice calls which works on linux and mac, since the later is what the other person uses. We tried google talk too, but it just doesn't seem to work on their part. Any suggestions greatly appreciated :)

You can use googletalk if your contacts have gmail account.

You may also want to try faceflow, this is web based so no installation required.

Gmail talk also has calling, but the voice+video plugin doesn't seem to be working for me since an update awhile ago...
