I got VMware to work the first time i downloaded it after logging into the root user and giving it its executive priveleges. Cause of some partitioning issues, i reinstalled Ubuntu. Now when i try and install it, I Open VMware-Player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle. Nothing happens. When i try and run it in terminal, terminal opens then quickly closes. I saved it to a USB (after re-downloading Player a couple of times) and tried to open it from there. I keep getting this message :gedit has not been able to detect the character encoding. Please check that you are not trying to open a binary file. Select a character encoding from the menu and try again. Help please?
