Depositories not working

I recently loaded Ubuntu 11.04 None of the software searches I do with SYNAPTIC PACKAGE MANAGER work.
When I requested help a window came up telling me "this is not a genuine
Ubuntu package"

Any help with this matter will be much appreciated

The mirror you're using looks like it hasn't been updated for a year; there's no ubuntu/dists/natty folder there. Try switching to the US server.

You can select the best server this way:

System, Administration, Update Manager, Settings button, Ubuntu Software, Download from, other, Select best server

It pings every server and then lets you choose if you want the one it found. In Chicago area Argonne Labs (anl) is my choice. (Although today for the first time I get an 404 error on update.) Site seems up as I can download the CD. So I assume it is just temporary.
