Hello,

I use Ubuntu 11.04 on my computer, and I decided I wanted to download some games from Steam. So I Googled some ways in which this can be done. I found on the Ubuntu Wiki an installation guide using Wine. I tried this, and it just crashed after login. So I searched saround and it said to install using PlayonLinux, so I tried this, and it still crashes.

Also, when it loads up for a few seconds, it doesn't display any games in the library, I did once have time to search a game, but it said there was no matches yet it is a game, could this just be lack of time to load up?

So is there anyway in which I can stop this from crashing?

Hello there,

I have the same issue and I'm searching the internet to solve it. So far no luck.
However, I think because we're both noobies we can agree that we've problably missed some step somewhere.

Please correct me if I am wrong but what I have done so far:

- Installed linux on PC 64 bit version 11.04
- did updates
- installed playonlinux
- installed steam
- downloaded tf2
- tried to play tf2
*crash*
- try to boot steam
- crash after 3-5 seconds (the screen is interactive, but just crashes to desktop)

Please help us, we're gamers and need out daily shot!

(maybe it has to do with HP pc's?)
