View Full Version : Stuff we all do but no one admits to!

This is an example of a thread that seems like it would take off, but it will be a flop. Since we can't post anonymously, no one is going to want to admit things on here that we don't want to admit to. ;)

Edit: I am not the originator of this thread. The OP was spam and was deleted, so now it appears that I started this thread.

I'll just quote what others have already said: :)

Walking the same way as someone you just said goodbye to is awkward as ****

I had never really thought about it but for some reason, it is awkward.

Are you overeating? That can make you feel like napping. I think you may also have a lip balm deficiency. ;)

I'd share something but because it's something no one admits to I can't..... :D

I prefer to think of it in this way: It's not me eating too much, it the other people
that eats too often. (I only eat twice a day.)

When it comes to "dry lips", have a look at my avatar. They portray my favourite
medium, the "dry lips" of inked paper...

I usually argue with myself in my mind.

When I was in high school, a boy on my bus admitted to his friend that he hears his own voice in his head a lot, and he asked him if that's weird. His friend told him that everyone does it, and it's called "thinking". :)

It was meant as a joke. This thread has gotten mostly humorous replies so far.

My everyday actions (simple things like walking, glancing at the time, opening doors, etc) tend to be a tad more dramatic, unusual or generally over-the-top if nobody is looking and/or I'm alone in the house.

Get angry at the rubberneckers slowing down traffic then rubbernecking when you get to the accident yourself.

I got on an elevator with others and pressed all the buttons so it would stop at each floor. Told them I always wanted to do that.

I am surprised no one admitted to passing gas in the grocery store.

I eat fried maps with moss. Either that or I sometimes make sentences based on words from a program that generates memorable passwords. You decide.

As in this?

A Red Rose's Laughter

The wind fiddles with a wanderer's bananas.
Alas!
The morning dances to fermented delight,
And the ocean holds meetings on the desert's oysters.

Eternity dwells on black volcanoes,
As a red rose quivers in the outhouses of virtuous agony.
A wet cave aches for purple water.
Cool!

And also, seemingly, like this:

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

I often talk to myself, not because I'm problem solving it's because I don't have any friends. :lolflag:

Ha ha ha ha!! And you start off with "This is an example of..." without a point of reference.

This is a first for me. How many spam threads have had the spammer deleted while allowing the thread to continue? It's a good topic placed in the appropriate forum but the OOP (Originally original poster) was clearly seeking contributors to his FB comment page.

The OOP saw that the thread was taking off so was asking people to add our posts to his site. The mods and or admins realized the value of this thread as well and so booted the OOP and kept the thread alive but without the spam.

The name of the thread is "stuff we all do". Does everyone "nerd out"?

Anyway, I think we all, um, pretty sure we all,..... wait, I can't say without getting in trouble. ;)

I work for Nielsen and whenever someone in the sample is specific about something sport-related and it's not on the screen, I have to ask my female production assistant if it's related. For instance, if they write "playoffs" but NBA someone vs. someone, shows up on the screen, I'll have to ask. As for horse racing, I had no idea that Preakness had anything to do with it!

I'm a pretty big guy but was never co-ordinated so sports just wasn't my thing.

LOL! That would be the easiest household to do! One channel, one viewer, and all the lines draws correctly for seven days!

It sounds like you might know about the metered ratings. We do the week-long viewers'diaries. We send out one-week TV diaries during sweeps for about 4 weeks. (I think they should be called "journals") When they come in, we have to enter them into the database day by day, hour by hour, and viewer by viewer. Hardly anyone fills them out correctly. It would be a dream to have a household send in a diary with with one viewer and one station the whole time! :)
