skype "Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment Aborted"

Hi guys.

Skype has stopped working for me.

It crashed last night, and I haven't been able to get it to start again. When I try to run it from the command line, I get the message:


Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment
Aborted

I restarted X, and still got this message. I rebooted, and I still got the message.

I have no webcam plugged in.
I am running ubuntu 10.10
What could be happening here?
How can I get skype running again?

I've got similar problem.

My error was:

Corrupt JPEG data: 36 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9
Aborted

Than I move my .Skype folder and skype work. Error is something ih Skype home folder.

I use Ubuntu 11.04.

This guy had third error, but solution works!

I no longer have this problem.

My computer died a horribly death while I was physically transporting it.

I installed a new system, rolling back to 10.04, and skype is working now.
