I am surprised nobody mentioned this yet.

man, reading that bugzilla log has lost me half an hour of my life I won't be getting back.

It's interesting their POV as to why not to add it, but it's also interesting the counter arguments. Not sure which side to side with so I will remain a fence sitter but I suspect I'm leaning towards the camp that are pushing to provide support for the format.
