What happened to gedit. No save as. No spell check?
What do I need to do to get the old gedit?

I have save as and check spelling here.

Is this in a cleanly installed 11.04 or an upgraded one?

What do I need to do to get the old gedit?Hi, I also have the spell check and save as,might should check in synaptic and do a fix broken packages, or uninstall and reinstall.

Did you have a look in the global menu, up there on what used to be called the panel? The global menu is hidden until you mouse over it.

I forgot a little detail. (big detail) I'm running the wubi on top of Windows 7.

That wouldn't make any difference. Wubi is a way of installing Ubuntu inside the Windows partition, but once it's running it's independent of Windows. Did you look for the global menu in gedit? Can you see it?
