Just as I thought that I knew my way around Ubuntu...Here I am nowhere else to go,
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and Here's the mess Im in...
I had firefox 3.6xx installed on my machine and had a quick launch for it on my top panel. When ff4 was released i downloaded the tar.bz2 file, extracted it to /home/(username)/firefox and was running it from there, the quick launch now used to launch ff4.
Today i removed ff using synaptic as It was ff 3 actually and, now there is no trace of ff in the Applications>Internet or anywhere...but still when i navigate to the ~/firefox directory and run ./firefox it opens exactly in the state it was (opening my saved tabs), my point is i want the ff4 quick launch back.
I'm really not getting it where ubuntu installs all the apps and support files
