Ok.. I have a weird problem that is really getting on my nerves!

I need to write accent (french) letters like "è ê", etc. When I write in software like Texmaker or Office everything is ok for a couples of minutes, but then, I get "`e, ^e" instead of the correct "è ê".

Then if I do minimize and maximize, everything goes back to normal.

I had a similar bug with java windows disapearing from tasbar, but this was a compiz bug and a workarounds took cake of it.

In TexMaker, to make it happens I just need to select another tab and when I go back, I have the problem.

Anyone... this might be related to locale??

I tried disabling compiz (change setting in appearance to lowest level) and I had the same problem.

Idea anyone?

Do you have just the one keyboard profile selected, or do you switch between two? I've had difficulty in the past with the switching behavior, which seemed unpredictable whether I had separate profiles for separate windows ticked or not.
