View Full Version : [all variants] Anti-ripping tech on an audio CD

I have an audio CD which I seem to be unable to rip using rubyripper. Not only can I not rip from the CD, the CD will not even play on my computer. It is virtually brand new, and will play on an ordinary CD player. The most obvious way around this is to play it in an ordinary CD player, set up a line in connection, and record. I am worried about the quality/practicality of this setup though. Is there another way to do this? Someone suggested dd to me, but then I would still need software to convert the image into a music file. Any suggestions would be helpful.
