View Full Version : [ubuntu] upgraded to 11.04 cant boot previous install

I updated to new ubuntu with the selection to leave the previous version untouched... At boot I try to log into previous version and all I get is 11.04... I dont like the new Ubuntu and I want to uninstall but how?

AFAIK you can not upgrade and leave previous version untouched.if you want to go back to previous version you will have to install it again.

Just curious why is there an option in grub to boot previous version when it doesnt exist?

That should only be a previous Kernel and not the previous Ubuntu. Older Kernels are left there unless you yourself remove them. If you want to remove it, you can follow the link below but it is always recommended that you at least keep one older Kernel so if the newer one runs into troubles somehow, you still have got the choice to boot the older one and investigate.
