I didn't boot to Ubuntu for some months, when I did the other day it suddenly thought it needed to complete an installation and was missing installation.iso. So I uninstalled, downloaded the latest ubuntu desktop image and wubi, and re-installed. The fresh install is throwing the same installation.iso error. When I look, there is a C:\ubuntu\install\installation.iso. Why am I getting this error?

I'm not sure, but I'd run chkdsk from windows and defragment (wubi relies on the host file system being clean) - plus if you can boot an Ubuntu live CD and run the bootinfoscript (http://bootinfoscript.sourceforge.net/) the results might help figure out what the problem is.

File system is clean, chkdsk found nothing. It looks like the "partition" wubi makes is not being seen. I tried installing off of a burned installation.iso and all I see are the NTFS partitions.
