My slide panel in OO presentation has somehow come un-docked and is now sitting on top of my outline, slides, or whatever. How can I re-dock it back to its original position on the left?

This is a little tricky and may take 1/2 tries to get it right. Basically, you have to hold down Ctrl and double-click a vacant area on the "Slide Pane". (Immediately next to the word "Slides" works for me, or extreme bottom right hand corner).

Thanks! After hours of frustration, it worked first try!:D
