I am very interested in Linux, but am far behind having used Windows almost exclusively my whole life. What good reading material is out there to get me caught up and soon running a Linux distro, and hopefully know what I'm doing :p ?

the linux pocket guide is pretty useful. also, this site helped me a lot - http://www.linuxsurvival.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=1&meid=-1

linux in a nutshell
the linux bible is meant to be good too.

as for online guides, here (http://www.linuxnewbieguide.org/)'s something that i got from that digg site and i think its near perfect for newbies. it just covers the basics but in a very digestible sort of way, so it can act like a superb springboard for a learner of linux.

The direct link is here (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&isbn=1590596277&itm=2), and I've actually read through this entire book. It's a very, very good reference for anybody starting with Ubuntu. Linux is incredibly broad and tough to grasp as a whole, but if you're looking to start with Ubuntu, Keir's book will definitely get you on your feet and running quickly.
