Hi there, I spent yesterday altering XFCE 4.6 to display a "dock" similar to that of Unity then did it again on Gnome 2.30. Doesn't look too bad'

We know it's doable, but what's the point?
If you lack 3D hardware, there's Unity2D. ):P

EDIT:
Okay, if you run 10.04 there might not be a PPA for Unity2D, my bad.

You can install Unity 2D in Xubuntu. But then you'd pull in the GNOME desktop.

I would like to see Unity 2D rewritten so it can be used with any Ubuntu desktop environment.
