View Full Version : [ubuntu] One bad thing about the installation or 11.04

The dist upgrade didn't work. It never does. I don't know why I try. Never the less I had to do a cleanish reinstall and one thing pissed me off.

When you get to the partition assignment part of the installation you only get a selection of pre determined options on a drop down menu for for mounting points.

That sucked. I had to install with only some partitions mounted and then add them manually.

This wasn't a problem with older versions.

A number of folks have hit on the 'predefined only' issue.

It was a bug found too late to be fixed before the ISO's were made.

It is expected to be fixed for when you do a 'cleanish' install of 11.10 :D

As a workaround, you can open a text editor, type your custom mount point into that, then copy/paste it into the mount point field in the installer. This is assuming you are installing from the LiveCD environment.
