I find these genres pretty entertaining lately, and I've been looking for more movies or shows like this. I would prefer if they are on netflix as I can stream on my computer, but any recommendation is welcome. Thanks in advance.

I enjoyed watching the movie Dune the other day, it's a bit corny in places, but fun nonetheless.

Blade Runner just might be the greatest science fiction (film or otherwise) ever produced. I'm not sure what you mean by Action-Adventure, but why not have a look at The Hidden Fortress (an adventure film), one of the principal inspirations for the plot of Star Wars.

Doctor Who. :)

Though I don't know if you can watch it online.

DEFINITELY Doctor Who...but the NEW Doctor Who series. Much more entertaining than the 60s/70s stuff in my opinion.

You can "rent" them through Amazon.com and they are playable on Ubuntu/Linux. In fact I'm watching season 6 as we speak.

Start with Series 1 with Chris Eccleston as the Doctor. Although my favorite is David Tennant. Matt Smith is the latest actor to play the Doctor and this season is turning out pretty good.

Yes, I am a geek. I revel in it. :D

I didn't know how much I liked Dr Who untill last night.

Last night my wife and I went out to watch Roger Waters perform The Wall.

When we came home we watched Dr Who (that we'd missed that evening) on the iPlayer.

We normally watch it because the kids like it.

We'd never realised before that we would watch it anyway, kids or not.

The Event (Cancelled after 1 season but a good series)Really? I didn't even know it was canceled. Yeah, I'd say it was decent. It made me appreciate Željko Ivanek more...that is to say, this guy seems to be pretty much everywhere these days, but he almost always plays an antagonist, unlike in The Event.

Do I need to point out that NBC is braindead?

It seems these days only stupid cop shows and medical dramas survive.
