installed last night from an ISO CD. all looked fine, did the updates, set up a password, partitioned, time zone. when it tries to boot all I get is the pink screen, then for about 2 seconds the log in box pops up then goes behind the pink screen. When I was installing there were icons on the top of the screen, wireless, sound, power. those are gone now. any ideas guys, dont know if this is normal or try to reinstall.

thanks

Hi and welcome to the forums :-)

Which version are you installing?

What graphics card do you have installed?

If your system is old you should do a system check with the live disc to see if everything is working ok. Check your hard drive first with Disk Check. See if it passes. Keep checking the rest of your hardware. If your live disc works, but not your hard drive after installation, that could mean it is time to replace out your hdd.
