I have tried to install both Ubuntu 10.40 and 10.10 on a Windows PC from a Live Disk.
Several months ago, when I tried booting from the LD, it was successful and I could run Ubuntu from the CD.
However, when I try to install now from a Live CD, I first get the purple Ubuntu welcome screen with 4 dots going white to red, left to right, after which the screen goes blank except for an unclear frieze patter of Ubuntu logos across the top of the monitor.
Could this be a problem with the graphics card or Windows driver?
