Byobu Terminal

what is the difference between Byobu Terminal and Terminal? i ask this because when i upgraded from ubuntu 10.10 to 11.4 i did not have Byobu Terminal

It's just that they change what gets installed by default. You can install byobu.


sudo apt-get install byobu

regarding what the difference is ... byobu terminal is the regular gnome-terminal but with a byobu session running inside, rather than a plain bash shell. And in turn Byobu is a derivation of screen which is a terminal multiplexer, or in laymans language a way of running multiple terminal sessions within a single window.
