NVIDIA Dev Driver. Can't kill XFCE!

I'm running the latest Xubuntu and can't seem to kill the xserver to install the nvidia dev drivers.

Does anybody know where I could find the program to kill the server? I tried Top and it kept coming back!

I assume you're doing it manually instead of using Jockey (Hardware Drivers). You might have a look through this:
