Dear all,
after long time of having used Ubuntu 10.04 I finally
decided to upgrade to 11.04 because I was intrigued by
the new Unity interface.
I think that when you get acquainted to it the usage would be quite smooth
but for the moment, since I've used Gnome for years I'm a bit lost.
Apparently many desktop launcher and the one I had on my panels
are just ended in the unity launcher that is very messy
and rather unusable.
Also, I find a little bit boring having to switch between applications
only using one launcher.
I was wondering if I can have two launchers on my desktop
one containing the shortcuts for the most used applications
and another one containing the open ones.
I hope you can help me with this
and give some advices to enjoy the new Unity interface!
Thanks a lot in advance,
Regards, Luca

I don't think there's a way to do this directly using Unity as of now. However, check out AWN (avant-window-navigator). It provides a dockbar that can be used in addition to Unity. You could configure it to have all the launchers you want and remove all the launchers from Unity so that open programs showed up there.

Hope this helps.
