Hi, I am a little confused you have appearance preferences open, so what is it that is missing?

If you mean the Visual Effects tab, it's no longer present in 11.04 (as desktop effects, I. e. Compiz, are enabled by default.)

I meant the visual effects tab is missing. It doesn't show up anymore.

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

or do same from your synaptic package manager
