They say curiosity killed the cat, well I got a little curious this morning and installed Gnome 3. I didn't really care for it so I went back to Unity. Everything seem to work, but I found I can't change the font or icons in the top bar (I am not sure it is called a panel anymore). I did a complete un-install of gnome 3 and also did a re-install of Unity, but this did not fix the problem.
Anyone have an idea what else I can try to get this working again? I don't want to do a reinstall of Ubuntu 11.04, because I have everything else running the way I want.

Well, I fooled around long enough that I really screwed up Unity. Now I am using Gnome 3, and I guess I will try it for awhile. This way when 11.10 comes out I can make up my mind which one I want to stick to.

I hear 11.10 will have both Gnome 3 and Unity. http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/04/gnome3-packages-begin-trickling-into-ubuntu-11-10/
