Will empathy ever get the ability to transfer files over aim? Seriously can't believe it's still missing this :/

Pretty much ever other multi-protocol im program can do this.

Pidgin can't file transfer either, to MSN Buddies. Anyone using WLM gets a timeout or that I canceled the transfer.

I've found msn file transfers probimatic on every im client I've ever used, it always transfers files at like 5 kb/s. Aim transfers work perfectly for me in pidgin though ( other programs such as trillian, digsby ect...)

Empathy is badly lacking in this area as it only supports it one one freakin protocol.

File transfers and video chat have both worked fine for me with the MSN protocol, ever since telepathy-butterfly switched to pymsn. Granted, it's slow. MSN file transfers have always been slow, even in MSN itself (as far as I remember). It's usually easier to use email or Dropbox or some such.

AIM is a bit of a problem because it runs through Pidgin's back-end via telepathy-haze. And telepathy-haze doesn't seem to get a lot of attention, especially since Telepathy's own MSN CM has rocketed ahead of Pidgin…

Anyway, here is a bug report you may want to subscribe to:
