I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 on an Inspiron 9200.
I got the laptop used, from a good friend of mine, when Windows was flashing constant BSoD at them, so I messed about with XP for a bit, and my sound card didn't work then. When I put 11.04 on it, it still doesn't work, though I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
I am surprised, however, that running 'sudo lshw' in the terminal turns up nothing that even resembles a sound card, but when I was changing some settings in my BIOS, it did say one existed, specifically a Sigmatel 9750.
Any ideas? I've been dreading pulling this apart, as I have only worked on desktops in the past and have no idea how to do this safely. I also cannot find a component map of my motherboard anywhere, and I've been trying to google it up for about a week now.
Thanks in advance for any help.
