Hi, everyone. Sorry if this has already been posted. I have not yet been able to find a definitive answer.

I have looked at the W520, and it seems to suit my needs very well. However, it is very important that my computer is able to run Ubuntu. I want to get the model with the NVIDIA Quadro 2000M graphics, but I'm not sure if it will work with Ubuntu. (I do not want to have to use the Intel HD Graphics.) Does anyone know whether the 2000M will work with Ubuntu? What if I use the driver at http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-display-amd64-270.41.06-driver.html

Thanks

W520 works with Ubuntu 11.04.
NVIDIA Quadro 2000M works out of the box (tho i recommend https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates)
The only thing I am struggling with is the FN + F7 key, witch does not work at all.

I am attempting to make the W520 work on 11.10 with the external monitor (actually projector). It works, it just doesn't seem to switch or recognize the external VGA port connected to the projector.

I have a Thinkpad W530 with an NVIDIA K2000 card. The Intel graphics driver is used on install and that works fine. NVIDIA isn't recognised immediately. Also I'm unable to use an external monitor, I'm not sure what's going on with that.
