hi
i went into some troubles after installing plymouth-manager.
it doesn't show the original boot splash, it works slow, etc...
i use ubuntu maverick 10.10 on asus 1201n netbook.
i think of reinstalling ubuntu 10.10.
the system is installed in /root partition, and i have a seperate /home partition.

my question is :
will all the installed packages stay after reinstallation ?
will the top panel stay as i configured it or i will have to configure it again ?

I see that Asus netbook has an Nvidia GPU. Did you enable the proprietary driver? If so, then maybe this will help you: http://idyllictux.wordpress.com/
